Local Events To Enjoy Safely

August 27, 2020

Trashy Tutu Mangrove Clean Up – You can help clean up our local waterways while having some fun in costume! Paddle, kayak, and clean up our mangroves and shorelines. Launches are from Coral Cove and Jupiter Pointe Marina at 4pm on Thursday, September 10. After the cleanup, everyone meets at the sandbar for a costume contest! Now in its 3rd year, this event is COVID friendly and benefits Chasin A Dream Foundation that assists local families with children battling life threatening illnesses. For more information, check Facebook or email lori@chasinadream.org

Friends of Jupiter Beach Cleanup – The summer storms wash ashore much debris and trash that carelessly found its way into our oceans. Join the Friends of Jupiter on Saturday, September 5 at 8:30am and you will be provided with gloves, bags and pickers – or you can bring your own! In order to avoid large crowds, there are several meet up spots at designated stair entrances. Masks are strongly encouraged and you can get more information by emailing Karen Gray: kgray@friendsofjupiterbeach.org

Boat-In Movie Theater – This free community event will take place on Saturday, Sept 12 at 7:30pm in honor of the second annual Jupiter Recovery Day. Watch the all-time classic movie Jaws from the water on a 45’ screen with FM transmission, under the stars, from a boat, kayak, paddle board, or dock at the Jupiter Pointe Club & Marina.  This event is social distancing-friendly.

Show On The Go – The city of West Palm Beach has transitioned its usual ‘Screen on the Green’ summer series into a ‘Show on the Go’ that respects social distance and safety procedures. The movie ‘MOANA’ will be shown on Saturday, September 26 and you can join in for an affordable, safe and fun evening at Currie park. The show starts at 7pm and tickets are just $10 per car with food and beverage available onsite for purchase and no-contact style delivery. For more info, visit: www.wpb.org/events
